Our ACCESS team is dedicated to creating value in the communities we serve by doing just that: Giving people access to resources and opportunities. We give developers access to prime real estate, employees access to meaningful and financially rewarding careers, and our community access to beautiful spaces to live, shop, work, and entertain.
From Two Friends to Full-Service
The beginnings of ACCESS go back to 2005 when Darren Hicks and Kirk Hanson began working together for a national retail power center and mall developer. They quickly realized their passion for commercial real estate while focusing on both large and small format retail development, in addition to select mixed-use and hospitality projects. When the market declined in 2009, Darren and Kirk decided to start ACCESS and officially launched at the 2009 ICSC convention. The first few years they applied their expertise to the decimated commercial real estate market place and worked predominately with financial institutions by acting as a receiver, fixing and disposing of bad assets all across the Midwest. As the market rebounded, they called upon their extensive network of tenant and broker relationships to handle multiple national retail roll outs completing over 300 locations for these clients who were taking advantage of a down market to expand.
ACCESS has grown substantially since 2009. Backed by solid systems and processes, and a national network of contacts in real estate, construction, and design, our services have expanded to include Development, Brokerage, Asset Management, Construction, and Property Management
